Group of German Students Visits Case Study Sites of UNU-EHS Vulnerability Assessment in Can Tho

On 16th of September a group of architecture students of the Urban Development Studies Programme, Department of Planning and Building Overseas, Technical University of Darmstadt visited the Vulnerability Assessment component of WISDOM in Can Tho City. Within the framework of a studio in Vietnam, the students were introduced to the case study areas of the Vulnerability Assessment in Cai Rang and Ninh Kieu Districts. Details regarding the living conditions in sub-standard dwellings exposed to water-related hazards were explained as well as potential options for upgrading measures discussed. Moreover, potential fields of collaboration between different disciplines such as architecture, urban planning, geography and anthropology were explored in order to advance adaptation strategies.
